Titus 2:4-5 (Amplified Bible)
They are to give good counsel and be teachers of what is right and noble, So that they will wisely train the young women to be sane and sober of mind temperate, disciplined and to love their husbands and their children, To be self-controlled, chaste, homemakers, good-natured kindhearted, adapting and subordinating themselves to their husbands, that the word of God may not be exposed to reproach blasphemed or discredited.
In keeping with the inspiration of the Proverbs 31 Woman in the Old Testament, God continues to teach us His will for a woman’s life in the New Testament. Titus 2 is a beautiful example of how our lives can be our ministry. For many of us, we are busy mothers and wives, some also juggling careers or school, and the thought of incorporating another “hat” can seem overwhelming. But our Father knows best, and desires that we not necessarily create another slot in our schedule for the ministry but just living a God-influenced life can impact so many!
God’s heart for me as an “older woman” is to “give good counsel and be teachers of what is right and noble” to my younger sisters as well as be a Godly wife and homemaker. My lifestyle therefore is my ministry! How I act is a reflection of His word! I can either malign or discredit the word, or give Him glory.
As women, our homes should be a place of refuge, hospitality, warmth, beauty and order. I hope that this section of my Blog will be a great resource to learn God’s will for our lives and a place where I invite other Titus 2 women to spur us all onto to “love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).
